I am always looking for the next steps in education to keep up with the latest trends which is one of my key values.

One thing that is always a priority to me is to keep the integrity of the hair when providing chemical treatments, which is why we invest in products with the latest technology to allow us to achieve this.

During the lockdowns we all had time to question our careers, in doing so I realised that my passion for hair is as strong as ever.

I have been in the Hairdressing industry for 40 years now and I’m still loving it! There’s been a lot of changes over the years and this always inspires me to get creative, which I thrive upon.

Fashions always seems to move in cycles meaning we have to recreate new fashions whilst maintaining to the original ideas. It’s great to see the past revitalised which can spark the imagination to do things you perhaps you wouldn’t have otherwise thought of.

Hairdressers are like a fine wine…they get better with age! With age comes experience – you can’t buy experience…you earn it.

My name is Amanda and I have 20 years experience in the industry. I began my journey at the age of 14 where I worked as a Saturday girl in a local salon. I enjoyed it so much that I decided it was the job for me.

At 16 I went on to train at Stoke-on-Trent College where I gained my level 2 and 3 in hairdressing. I worked in a local salon until I decided to spread my wings and move away to Nottingham to train with Vidal Sassoon, this is where my passion for hairdressing really too off.

I enjoyed working with Vidal for many years until I decided to start my family. This brought me back to my roots in Stoke, and after having my children began to work in a local salon , in Hanley.

Whilst working within the salon I decided to train to become a lecturer in Hairdressing. I went back to college to gain my level 4 in teaching, which enabled me to teach at a college 1 evening per week. It was nice to gain the extra qualifications but doing this for a while I realised that I prefer the salon environment… Which brings me to now.
